Watermark Implementation Progress

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness (IE) is coordinating the implementation of Watermark products across campus. This table summarizes current progress for each module.

Planning & Self-Study (PSS) Live – Enhancing Administrative units being incorporated 2026–2027; exploring self-study usage.
Course Evaluations & Surveys (CES) Live IE scheduling course evaluations each term.
Curriculum Strategy – Catalog (CAT) Live University catalogs available at https://swu.smartcatalogiq.com/
Curriculum Strategy – Forms (CUR) In Progress Confirming workflows to prepare for pilot roll-out.
Faculty Success (FS) In Progress Building out all features; preparing for piloting in Spring 2027.
Student Learning & Licensure (SLL) In Progress Building out features; preparing for piloting in late Fall 2026 or Spring 2027.
Student Success & Engagement (SSE) In Progress Initial data validation and import phase.

Status Definitions

Not Started Implementation has not yet begun.
In Progress The module is being configured and prepared for use.
Piloting The module is in use with a limited group.
Live The module is fully implemented and in active use.
Live – Enhancing The module is live, with additional features still being added.

Planning & Self-Study (PSS)

Watermark’s Planning & Self-Study (PSS) solution enables SWU to collect and report on assessment planning efforts across programs, colleges, and departments to meet goals for continuous improvement and accreditation standards. PSS has four components:

  1. Assessment Planning and Outcomes Assessment – This component gives users the ability to collect assessment data for programs, including measures, results, actions, and key foundational data such as mission statement, outcomes, and curriculum maps.
  2. Self-Study – Users have access to pre-existing templates in addition to the ability to build templates for accreditors and begin collecting evidence and writing narratives for the next submissions.
  3. Program Review – In this component, users can develop templates to document program review.
  4. Strategic Planning – This component provides the opportunity to develop a template that can document the institution’s current strategic plan. The template includes features for users to document implementation progress of the plan.

Through a central system with automated, information-rich reporting, SWU ensures that faculty and administrators have access to the data needed to monitor quality and make timely, actionable decisions to improve teaching and learning.
