    Description

    This course offers a comprehensive examination of written expression instruction for educators who wish to develop effective, research-based writing pedagogy. Students will explore the cognitive, linguistic, and developmental aspects of writing, with a focus on fostering students’ abilities to communicate ideas clearly and effectively across genres and grade levels. The course balances theory with practical application, guiding participants through the process of teaching writing as both a craft and a critical academic skill. Key areas of study include the writing process, genre-specific instruction, sentence and paragraph development, grammar and conventions, and strategies for supporting diverse learners. Students will learn to assess writing, provide constructive feedback, and create engaging writing environments that nurture creativity, critical thinking, and revision skills.
