CENTRAL, S.C. - Kendall Ray, a rising senior with the Southern Wesleyan University baseball program, was recently selected to the South Team in the Southern Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game.

The All-Star Game will be held Sunday, July 22nd on the campus of Gardner-Webb University. The North and South teams are made up from the seven team league that is sanctioned by the NACSB and funded in part by Major League Baseball. Ray plays for the Clemson/Central based team the Carolina Chaos.

Ray is currently 10th in the league in hitting and boasts a .358 batting average in the wood bat league. He is 29-for-81 with 20 RBI's and seven stolen bases on the summer.

"Kendall has done a great job for us this summer," stated Chaos Head Coach Corey Gareri. Gareri is also the assistant coach at Southern Wesleyan and added, "no matter where we put him in the order he finds his way on base and drives in runs. Defensively, he is leading the league in outfield assists and is a well rounded player."

"It's great to see Kendall receive the recognition he deserves after having a great summer to this point," added SWU Head Baseball Coach Mike Gillespie. "I am glad he decided to play this summer and I am looking forward to him carrying this success over to his senior year."

Ray hit .290 this past spring with 22 RBI's and six stolen bases.
